I just realized I never updated this blog after taking Kayla to the Dr. on wed. Kayla has strep throat! She had an antibiotic shot on wed and another one on thurs. and seems to be a little better but still has a sore throat and isn't eating and drinking real good however she's improving little by little each day. I have stayed home with her which has been nice in a way because I have been getting a little more rest myself the past couple days.
I think we have finally managed to get most of what we need ready for this baby to be born except some cleaning and arranging. We have the bedside bassinet assembled and in place and have made room in our bedroom for baby and all his things for the first while until we get moved into our new house.
Monday should be an interesting day as all the family will be arriving at our house for a few days. Kayla will have fun seeing Grandparents from both my side and Gregs side as well as Gregs brother and sister and her family. Now if my brothers were able to make it we would have all of our immediate family here at one time! My dad and Julia left Arizona yesterday and should arrive tomorrow or monday at the latest. Gregs mom only lives a little over an hour away and his sister and brother both live within a few hours and all are coming to help out for a few days which will be nice. Now if I can get my head together so I can think of what we need to get done!
We will try to keep this blog updated as things progress and are likely to get very busy from here on out.
So.... Stay tuned

37 week ultrasound
Here is a picture of Eric taken via ultrasound yesterday. Its a little hard to see on here but I don't have time to try and lighten it. I am pretty sure he is sucking his thumb. He was active during the ultrasound but he is still in the breech position!
I must be going now because Kayla suddenly spiked high temps last night of 103.6 and even alternating tylenol and ibuprofen all night still has high fever this morning so I'm leaving for the Dr. office now. I'm telling you I need to move in to that clinic!

Baby shower
Some ladies from church hosted a marvelous baby shower for Eric yesterday!
It was a beautiful shower filled with creative and cute cake and punch, Hard but fun games that kept us all in hysterical laughter, and many many very thoughtful precious gifts. We are so blessed to be showered with so much love. What was enjoyed the most was the special time together with such wonderful and generous ladies. The hostesses all chipped in and bought us a very nice pack and play bassinet and changing table combination. Thankyou to everyone who participated and to those who were there in spirit and heart!

Since my last post a lot has happened
Well, since my last post life has been pretty busy. My week has been incredibly busy and doesn't stop with the weekend since people from church are giving me a baby shower tomorrow! We are so blessed.
Kayla is doing fairly good with her toddler bed and I only lost sleep one or maybe two nights. I had to get all her toys put away where she couldn't get to them with the exception of a few books and a few stuffed animals. I knew if all her toys were accessible there was no way she would ever go to sleep : ). She fell asleep on the floor one night but every other night has climbed into bed to fall asleep after spending just a short time sitting by the baby gate that leads to the hall (and us). The first night was tough and she got really upset even though we tried to make the transition as easy as possible. I think she is enjoying the set up now though.
Wednessday our cat had a reaction or possibly an overdose to a new flea and tick medicine I used on her. I treated her on tuesday and she was still fine wed. morning but by wed. evening (after the vet clinic was closed) I found her in a completely neurotic state. Her eyes were dilated, she was panting and having major muscle spasms. Before I could get a hold of the local vet I got a hold of my friend who is a vet so I did as much self treating as possible but she continued to get worse. Finally the local vet called and I took her in and left her at the vet hospital for a night of IV's etc. We really didn't think she would live because by the time I arrived at the vet she looked pretty bad and was even starting to have seizures. However early the next morning they called to tell us she pulled through and was just fine. A very expensive vet bill later we have her home again and she seems to be at 100%. From now on I'll only treat her with medicine I know she isn't sensetive to.
It seems I am getting little to nothing accomplished in getting ready for this baby that is going to be here before I am ready. Tonight we had to install childproof locks on our TV armoire so Kayla couldn't open doors and drawers and get into any more trouble. When we were done she came in the room and immediately tried opening the doors so she could see the TV and when it wouldn't open she said "Ooouh" with a big sigh. I told her we weren' t going to watch TV so she needed to find something else to do and she turned around and started playing and jumping around as if that was just fine as long as she knew that was the plan!

Todays Dr. appt quick and simple
Today at the Dr. I really didn't learn a whole lot. He wouldn't say what he thought about baby being breech still or not. He wants to see me in a week and at that time do a biophysical (ultrasound and monitor on baby). At that time we will know what the baby's position is so we can make a plan for birth. If baby is not in a favorable position that requires C section, delivery will be scheduled probably for sometime around June 3rd. If baby is in good position and if I'm dilated and ready for labor he still insists on inducing a little early. I told him I really want to wait for natural labor if all is well and he first said yes then went and looked through the charts and at my history then said he really wants an earlier delivery and explained a few reasons. Scheduled delivery would be very helpful for Greg with his new job and getting time off and would be helpful for other family coming to help care for Kayla but I really don't want to be induced and I want this baby to be born as healthy as possible and as full term as possible. I guess I won't worry too much until next week and see what we learn then.
After my appt I came home and put Kayla down for her nap. My mother in law was still here from babysitting while I went to my appt. It didn't take Kayla long and she was out of her crib. I knew this was coming but was hoping for a little longer so we could get into our new house. Grandma put her back in her crib and told her to go to sleep. Withing a minute she was out again. She seems to be climbing out very gracefully and hasn't fallen which amazes me. But now I have to get her room safe before having to put her to bed on a crib mattress on the floor tonight. : )
Ahhhh the joys of parenting a toddler right?

had to replace our car today
Today brought unexpected expense since our car broke down and we admitted to ourselves teh reality of needing to replace it. We bought this 1993 plymouth voyager from a friend and it runs! Its a much better vehicle than our car even though it too is old and worn. We're not so excited about its yellow stripe but we are so happy to have a vehicle that we can use as a family around town and that Greg can drive to work. So my day was spent taking care of the details for this, so much for a calmer more relaxing day!

house road trip
Our house took a trip down the hwy today. By 10am this morning both halves of our manufactured home were on the hwy after bouncing down the mile long dirt road from its old property. I didn't get many pictures because I was so busy so you'll have to forgive my cracked and bug stained windsheild in the pics. Everything went fairly smoothly, the only real complication was an angry neighbor because she thought we were going to have to trim a couple feet of branch off of one of her trees that hung over onto our access road that goes to our property. They managed to keep her happy and not cut the tree branches by allowing the plastic to tear etc. At about 9pm they were finished leveling and sealing the house back together. Tomorrow the trim crew will arrive to do interior work etc.

Finally ready to get our new house
Whew! We are finally ready for our manufactured home moved to our property. Lots of deadlines and phone calls have kept us really busy this past week. We have been out til 9pm most nights working by headlight getting things ready to go. We fenced off a corner of the pasture for the horses and calf and they got to try it out tonight. I have been keeping them off of it and watering it so it would have lots of grass for this week while we have to have the fence to the other pasture down so they can haul in the two pieces of our double wide. They should be moving it tomorrow and the rest of the week will be spent on set up etc.
It will still be a while before we get to move into it but we will be able to start getting things moved out there and preparing for the move. We still have to have a septic system installed and get power and water to the house and then it will be ready to move into. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow evening so you can see the progress.

Mothers Day
Happy Mothers Day! I hope all the mothers that read this know how special they are. We wish you all a great day filled with blessings and love.
There are a lot of special mothers in my life and I can't imagine life without them. I really miss my mom but I am so thankful for her love and devotion to the Lord. I always knew she loved me but even more important I got to watch her love to the Lord over the years. Now she is with him and I am so happy for her.
For those of you who have lost a child this is a difficult day for you, I know and I pray that today will be special and the memories you have will fill your heart with Joy as you know that you are still a mother even though your child is not here with you.
God Bless you all.

34 1/2 weeks of pregnancy, not long now
Today I had my reg. pregnancy checkup. Everything looks and sounds good. Dr. isn't worried about the breech yet and says that baby can turn anytime and he won't be planning a c section unless little Eric is still breech at 37 weeks. He said everything looked good on the ultrasound and that my uterus is not aging too much. He said that is something he looks for on ultrasounds and that my age has nothing to do with my uterus aging so whatever all that means : ). He thinks I'm very healthy for my age and that my body is handling pregnancy just fine. I think he needs to be me for a week before he tells me how well I am handling pregnancy ; ). So for now we just keep on keeping on and wait patiently for the arrival of our little miracle. Kayla has really taken on a mothering role with her dolls and other babies. This could be good and it could be bad : ).
We are still working like crazy to get our manufactured home moved to our property but things are falling into place. Tonight will be more porch moving and tomorrow will be having the A/C disconnected. Hopefully things will continue smoothly and by the end of next week our home will be on our property then I'm sure the real work will start : ).
That is all we have for now as an update. I'll try to post some pictures soon.

productive and tiring week
This week had been quite busy. Monday the morning and half of the afternoon was spent at the hospital and Dr. office having tests done. Monday evening Greg, his mom, Kayla and I went to the site of our new M. home and assessed the priorities so we could make arrangements and get things going for getting it moved. Greg's mom left tuesday morning and his brother, Stephen, arrived early afternoon on tuesday. We went to the property and got the horse trailer etc. so we could continue to do the necessary projects this week even while Greg was at work. The horse have learned to open a gate in the pasture so we tied that shut so they couldn't turn the water on again. Wed. Greg's mom came back down and helped out by watching Kayla and mopping floors and doing dishes for me while Stephen and I went back to the property and did some more fencing. In the afternoon I stayed home while Kayla napped and Greg's mom and Stephen headed for the M. home and took off all the skirting. I made phone calls and set some appts. for discconnecting the AC unit etc. while I put my feet up in hopes of reducing some of the swelling and hopefully encouraging Eric to turn to the head down position. Greg got home early and when the deskirting crew got home the trailer was loaded up again with stuff that has to go from the house here out to the property. I slaved to fix dinner by putting a frozen lazagna and some bread in the oven : ). After dinner Greg and Stephen continued to work while Euner and I took care of dishes and gave Kayla a bath and got her to bed. What a day it was but we did get a lot done. Today I am beat!
Kayla has made it known that even if I am not prepared she is ready for potty training so we will be starting that today. keeping diapers on her isn't working anymore as she knows when its time to go potty and removes her diaper so she can go : ). Other than that all I plan to do during the day today is make a few more phone calls to get quotes on jobs needing done and maybe some light cleaning but definitely I'll be doing some exercises reccomended to help breech babies turn.
